Many official signed documents need to be notarized to be valid. Other documents can be “Commissioned” instead of Notarized. We offer both services which are organized, affordable and quick.

Certified True Copy

Notary Publics can verify that a documents copy is a true copy of the original.

Witnessing and Certifying Signatures and Verifying Identities

Some contracts or documents need to be signed without all parties present. In these instances, one party may request the other to get their identity verified and signature witnessed.

  • Divorce, separation, custody or cohabitation agreements
  • Contracts, agreements, leases, promissory notes and waivers
  • Photographs and ID documents for passports and permanent resident cards

Commissioning Oaths for Statutory Declarations

A sworn declaration is a set of facts set out on paper and sworn in front of a person authorized to administer oaths. In Ontario, a Notary Public is authorized to administer oaths binding you to the sworn declaration.

  • Statutory declarations confirming identity
  • Statutory declarations of marital status
  • Statutory Declarations of Conjugal Relationships for Citizenship and Immigration Canada applications
  • Statutory declarations regarding ownership of property

Commissioning Oaths and Affidavits

An affidavit is a written document that lists a series of statements. These statements are then sworn before a notary. Notaries in Ontario are empowered to swear affidavits. This act "binds" the person swearing the oath to ensure the contents of the affidavit are true.

Some examples of affidavits include:

  • Affidavits for insurance claims, including stolen vehicles
  • Affidavits of service
  • Affidavits for name changes
  • Affidavits to transfer ownership of vehicles, including Sworn Statements for Family Gift of a Used Vehicle in the Province of Ontario
  • Affidavits for OSAP applications, including sole support status and marital status
  • Affidavits of marital status, including separation and common law relationships
  • Affidavits of single status
